Polly Weldon McDonell Vaughn, 1911 - 2000
Polly McDonell studied with some of the greatest artists of the 20th century, including Hans Hoffmann and Andre Lhote. She studied and painted across the United States, in France and Italy, and in Brazil for more than a decade, where she was accepted as a Brazilian artist, exhibiting her work at the prestigious Sao Paulo Art Biennial in 1951 and 1953. She continued to work and exhibit when she returned to her home of Phoenix, Arizona in the early 1960s.
