Oil on Canvas, Measures 48" wide by 36" high. Signed lower right.

"Born in Russian Armenia, Galust Berian received his academic training at the School of Fine Arts in Alaverdi. There, he was able to study under his father, a noted artist and professor. After immigrating to the United States in 1977, he continued his studies at the School of Fine Arts in Los Angeles where he studied under the late Sergei Bongart.

Galust’s paintings have been exhibited at the Palace of Culture in Alaverdi and in Los Angeles at the Art Union of Hamazgayin. In 1988, he won the prestigious silver medal for oil from the National Academy of Western Art in Oklahoma.

His mature, impressionistic, style beautifully captures the essence of his subject matter; Galust transforms seemingly ordinary landscapes into vivid, passionate, works of art.

Galust’s studies and love of painting in a natural environment eventually led him to settle in the western United States. Today, he lives a quiet and somewhat reclusive life in south-eastern Idaho with his wife and children."   - Biography from Alderwood Fine Art, Salt Lake City
