Nicolini's "History of the Jesuits: Their Origin, Progress, Doctrines, and Designs", published by Henry G. Bohn, York Street Covent Garden, London, 1854.
An 1854 edition of a rare book, author G.B. Nicolini, Italian writer who lived in Britain, wrote this book for a British, and decidedly anti-Catholic audience. Anti-popery in Britain, particularly England, was strong from the 1500's onwards, as evidenced by a book written in the Victorian 19th century. Book is in fair/good condition. Exterior rubbing at edges, but pages are are in very nice shape, no tears or missing pages. A very nice readable copy, which is not ex-library.
